What is ovulation?
Ovulation is the release of a mature egg from the ovary. It typically occurs at the midpoint of the menstrual cycle — day 14 in a 28-day cycle, or (cycle length − 14).
Fertile Window
The fertile window spans 6 days: the five days before ovulation and ovulation day itself. Pregnancy chances peak during this period.
Signs of ovulation
- Slight rise in basal body temperature (0.2–0.5°C)
- Clear, egg-white cervical mucus
- Mild pain on one side of the lower abdomen
- Increased sex drive
